Kids Beginner Agile workshop

COHAA is developing Central Ohio’s next generation of Agilists.

The Kids Beginner Agile workshop is an opportunity for kids to learn Agile principles in a fun and interactive environment.

The workshop is being taught by Matt Van Vleet, COO of Pillar Technology. In this session the kids will use a programming language called Scratch to develop a video game. They will develop a backlog of work, create a way to track their work, and develop the game. The course works best for children over six years old.

The workshop is free to registered COHAA members. Seating is limited to 16 students.

REGISTRATION is currently CLOSED.

Please send email to info@cohaa.org with your name and contact information, include # children, their name and age.

You must login in order to register your children. Select the number of children who will be participating. Upon checkout, you must enter the children’s name and age in the Order Comments section at bottom of checkout page. If we do not have the child’s name and age, they will not be admitted to the workshop.

Join PMI and COHAA for this exciting debate about the merits of Waterfall and Agile. Johanna Compton will represent Waterfall and Elaine McCormick will represent Agile. In this debate, you will learn about the strengths and weaknesses of both methodologies, and which methodology is best suited to a situation.

The Promise & Reality of Agile after 10 Years

This February we saw the 10 year anniversary of the Agile manifesto. National Speaker, Dave West, Principal Analyst at Forrester research will discusses the promise of Agile, and the reality of its use. This presentation draws on over 300 interviews and surveys undertaken by Forrester in the area of enterprise Agile adoption and provides attendees with a clear set of recommendations for how organizations should approach Agility.

Agile Coach Camp USA 2011

Agile Coach Camp is an awesome, low cost, non-profit conference where coaches come to network and develop ideas and practices for enhancing agile software development. It’s an Open Space, self-organizing, highly participative conference for leaders and aspiring leaders in the industry. Agile Coach Camps have been held worldwide since the first camp in Ann Arbor in 2008. It is exciting to have this event back in the midwest this year.

This year’s camp will be in Columbus OH, from Friday, September 23 through Sunday, September 25. Friday will be an Agile Games day and the remaining portion of the conference will be Open Space.

Why attend Coach Camp? It is a great place to meet and learn from other people actively involved in agile transformation across the country.
